What to expect: The Edward Little swim teams have gained several new athletes with swimming experience. The EL girls’ team has some strong swimmers and is led by senior captain Leila Chirayath in the sprint freestyle events and backstroke. The girls’ team should be competitive with most of the KVAC opponents and finish in the top 20 of Class A. The EL boys will be led by senior captain Brendan Whitman, who will compete well with the top boys in Class A in the sprint freestyle and backstroke. Also, seniors Noah Davis and Donovan Shaw will look to qualify for the state meet in individual events. The small number of boys competing will make it difficult to compete for wins, but the boys will be looking for individual qualifications and fast times.

Hebron Academy Lumberjacks

Coach: Scott Morrison (First year)

Class: A

Promising newcomers: Ellena Frumiento

What to expect: Hebron returns to the high school swimming ranks after a multi-year absence, as Ellena Frumiento will compete in individual events. She has a great chance at qualifying for the Class A state meet in multiple events.

Leavitt Hornets

Returning athletes: Senior — Jenna Boucher.

What to expect: Boucher has qualified for numerous Class A State meet events in the past three years and expects to do so in her final year. Boucher can compete at a high level in any stroke and at any distance, according to Morrison.

What to expect: The Blue Devils have 35 girls and 16 boys, and they look stronger to start the season than any of the previous teams that Troy Boutin has coached. They have brought on a few swimmers with some years of experience behind them and they maintain a strong crew from last year. Boutin is equally excited about the attitude and initial ability of some of the swimmers with none or little competitive swimming experience. They look to have stronger team finishes at both the KVAC and state championships as well as a large contingent of individual qualifiers for both meets.
