3 hurt in three-vehicle crash

FARMINGTON – Two vehicles were totaled and another was damaged Monday when a driver failed to stop at Routes 133 and 4 in front of Franklin Memorial Hospital, Farmington Police officer Ed Hastings said.

Hastings said Florence Smith, 84, incurred “minor” injuries when her four-door Chrysler was “struck by a CMP pickup heading south” on Route 4. After being hit by the CMP pickup, a 1999 Chevrolet driven by Michael Young, Smith’s car “crossed the four-lane road and struck another vehicle heading north.”

Both the pickup and Smith’s Chrysler were totaled, Hastings said, but the third vehicle, a Mercury van driven by Justin Robichaud, received an estimated damage of $500.

Smith, her passenger Frederick Greenleaf, and Young all complained of minor injuries after the accident, Hastings said.
