50th anniversary celebrated


AUBURN – Romeo and Helene Lepage celebrated their 50th anniversary on April 27. A surprise party was given by their children at the Carriage House on April 22, where family and friends celebrated.

They lived in Lewiston the first couple of years, then moved to James Street in Auburn, where they raised their family, then moved to Poliquin Avenue, where they have been for 30 years.

Mr. Lepage worked as a cutter in various shoe shops most of his life, Lown Shoe being one for 18 years. He is now retired and looks forward to fishing season every year.

Mrs. Lepage was a homemaker while raising five children. When the youngest was in high school, she worked at Fancy Stitchers for a few years, then worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, where she now volunteers. She is now retired and enjoys playing card games.

Children and spouses are Al and Rita Lepage, Denise and Peter Wallingford, Pat and Terry Canning, Claire and Dan Carrier and Michelle Gardner. They also have seven grandchildren, Jon, T.J., Trisha, Nick, Al, Jennifer and Mike, and three great-grandchildren, Austin, Blaine and Taylor.
