Clarification
In yesterday's editorial, we wrote Maine repealed its motorcycle helmet laws. Maine did repeal its universal helmet law in 1977, but instituted helmet laws for riders under 15, and riders in the first year of their license or learner's permit, in 1983.

A budget doesn't plow snow-covered roads. A budget doesn't wait for speeders on a country lane, or protect communities from crime. A budget doesn't fight fires, build bridges, or educate children. A budget doesn't do work.

I am sick of seeing the Sun Journal drag Jim Raymond's name through the mud, most recently the articles on the Wal-Mart "incident," which was purely speculation on the part of the police officer.
Vote 'no' on Mexico budget
As a member of the Mexico Budget Committee this year, I attended budget meetings and was convinced that most of the selectmen and budget committee were thinking there was to be no cutting of services or budgets.
