'A Charlie Brown Christmas' opens at Schoolhouse Arts Center Friday

The Schoolhouse Arts Center in Standish will present a performance of “A Charlie Brown Christmas.” Show times are Dec. 7-16, 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday, and 2 p.m. Sunday. When Charlie Brown complains about the overwhelming materialism he sees among everyone during the Christmas season, Lucy suggests that he become director of the school Christmas pageant. Charlie Brown accepts, but this proves to be a frustrating endeavor. When an attempt to restore the proper holiday spirit with a forlorn little Christmas fir tree fails, he needs Linus’ help to discover the real meaning of Christmas. Pictured is a scene from the play where Charlie Brown (Brady Merciers) prepares to direct the Christmas play as Pigpen (Austin Norcia), Snoopy (Molly Olsen), Sally (Dakota Webb), Linus (Zander Norcia), Peppermint Patty (Cailyn Wheeeler), Shermy (Declan Lynch) and Frieda (Tapley Trudell) listen. Tickets are $12 and $14 and are available for purchase at www.schoolhousearts.org or by emailing [email protected].
