AARP provides the free service that helps taxpayers with low and middle income, with special emphasis to those 60 and older. All preparers are IRS-trained, tested and certified.

The program does not have income limits, instead the complexity of the return dictates whether a return can or can’t be prepared. Volunteers are qualified to do schedule C-EZs for business as long as total expenses are less than $5,000. Questions can be answered by Linscott at 782-6873 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
