Accident causes power outage

GRAY – A car hit a utility pole early Tuesday morning, knocking out power to nearly 800 Central Maine Power customers.

The car struck a pole on Lewiston Road around 3 a.m., according to CMP spokesman John Carroll. The accident interrupted power to 773 homes and businesses around Gray-New Gloucester. Power was restored shortly before 4:30 a.m.
