OTISFIELD — Len Adler, a selectman and Fire Department lieutenant, Wednesday praised the efforts of Otisfield and area fire departments for their work battling the fire at Garry and Debbie Dyer’s home Nov. 23.
The couple’s two-story home, barn and business at 624 Route 121 were destroyed.
State fire investigators said the cause was possibly a working wood pellet boiler outside the barn or an electric water heater.
Speaking after the Board of Selectmen meeting as a resident, Adler said firefighters were able to pump 1,000 to 2,000 gallons of water a minute on the fire because of the help of area fire departments.
Otisfield Fire Department was assisted by Norway, Harrison, Casco, Poland, Minot, Oxford, Naples, Bridgton and West Paris departments and Pace Ambulance.
“I just want to thank those fire departments,” Adler said.
