TURNER — Spring classes sponsored by SAD 52 Adult and Community Education are announced.
Ballroom dancing starts Monday, April 5. Learn waltz, foxtrot, swing and cha-cha.
Academic classes starting in April include Introduction to Sociology on Tuesday, April 6. Learn about topics such as social structure, groups and organizations, power, social institutions and social change. Class discussion is a component of the course.
Health Session Two starts Tuesday, April 6, and covers the areas of life that affect health and well-being. Wellness, nutrition and the human body and its systems will be among the topics.
A general introduction to psychology begins Thursday, April 8, with emphasis on social science perspective. Study language, intelligence and cognition, development, emotion and motivation, health psychology, social psychology, personality and the causes and treatment of mental disorders.
Foster care and adoption in Maine will be the topic of a workshop titled “A Family of ME.” The process, benefits, children and requirements will be covered in the class on Tuesday, April 6. Materials will be provided and questions and discussion will be welcome.
