Alfred W. Scott


EXETER, N.H. – Alfred W. “Bud” Scott, 77, of Kingston Pines, Kingston, N.H., a resident of the town since 2001, died peacefully Saturday evening at Exeter Hospital surrounded by his family.

He was born Oct. 26, 1929, in Exeter and raised in Haverhill, Mass. He was a resident of West Paris from 1971 until 2001.

A gifted cook, he ran several restaurants in Maine.

The husband of the late Barbara (Enos) Scott, he is survived by his wife of six years, R. Marion (Clement) (Rhodes) Scott; a son, M. Joseph “Beany” Scott, and his wife, Brenda, of Oxford; four daughters, Kathleen A. Thurlow of West Paris, Linda L. Cole, and her husband, Marvin, of Bryant Pond, Gloria J. “Bitsy” Holt of South Paris and Elizabeth A. Douglas, of Oxford; a stepson, Michael P. Rhodes, and his wife, Paula, of Holiday, Fla.; three stepdaughters and their husbands, Kathleen M. (Rhodes) and Chuck Chappelle, of Dunlap, Tenn., Maureen E. (Rhodes) and Gary Witley of Atkinson and Diane M. (Rhodes) and Kurt Demmer of Salem, N.H.; two sisters, Alice Hulbert of Ipswich, Mass. and Mildred Shaw of Florida; 23 grandchildren, Tina (Cushman) Hall, Samantha Poland, B.J., Jason and Jessica Scott, Michael and Karen Albino, Toby Cole, Catreena and Erica Holt, Barbara, Brandon and Jasmine Douglas, David, Michelle, Michael Jr., Kurtis and Amanda Rhodes, Heather and Connor Chapelle, Austin Witley, Davin and Preston Demmer; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
