SABATTUS — Alphonsine M. (Duchesneau) Lago, 86, of Sabattus died Friday, Dec. 12, at home after a short illness with her family at her side.
She was born in Van Buren on May 13, 1928, the daughter of the late Edmund and Alice (Rossignol) Levesque.
She was employed in the textile industry as a winder and worked very hard all her life.
Alphonsine enjoyed playing bingo, holiday cooking, going to the beach and casinos, talking and spending time with her good friends, Jeannine and Gert.
She is survived by three sons, Paul J. Duchesneau and wife, Cecilia, of Fallon, Nev., Douglas P. Duchesneau and companion, Gail Carbone, of Calicoon, N.Y., and Richard P. Duchesneau and wife, Patricia, of Sabattus; three daughters, Henrietta Lounsbury and husband, Edward, of Manchester, Helen Denman and husband, Richard, of Neversink, N.Y., and Annette Merrill and companion, Frederick Hatch, of Auburn; four brothers, Rosaire Levesque and wife, Joan, of Bristol, Conn., Leo Levesque of Auburn, Robert Levesque and wife, Norma Jean, of Sabattus, and John Levesque and wife, Mary, of Auburn; two sisters, Carmella Brousseau and husband, Roger, of Auburn, and Diane Mailhot and husband, Lionel, of Gray; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Archelas Duchesneau in 1981; her second husband, Wayne Lago, in 2001; and by a son, Norman Duchesneau.
