FARMINGTON – Alta P. Bridgwood, 97, of Farmington, passed peacefully with family at her side on Friday morning, April 16, at the Edgewood Rehabilitation and Living Center, Farmington, where she had resided for the last year and a half.
She was born Sept. 3, 1912, in Salem, Mass., one of eight children born to Benjamin and Sarah (Robertson) Anderson.
On Nov. 29, 1930, in Fall River, Mass., she married George Richard Bridgwood; they enjoyed 47 years of marriage until his sudden death on Aug. 21, 1979.
She is survived by her children; Richard A. Bridgwood and his wife, Diane, of Brewster, Mass..; Janet Bagnulo and her husband, John, of New Vineyard, and Frederick “Fred” Bridgwood and his wife, Sonja, of Hickory, NC; 10 grandchildren, Nancy Pond and her husband, Doug, Patricia Cleere and her husband, David, John Bagnulo and his wife, Joanna, Joel Bridgwood and his wife, Sarah, Julie Kobold and her husband, Jeff, Allison Trudel and her husband, Steve, Ronald Bridgwood, Terry Bridgwood, Karen Bridgwood and John Bridgwood; 17 great-grandchildren and eight great-great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her seven siblings and a grandson, Michael Bridgwood.
