Anctil photography featured at CMMC

LEWISTON – The photography of William Anctil is being featured during May at the Central Maine Medical Center gallery, sponsored by the Woman’s Hospital Association.

Anctil began his journey as an aspiring photographer more than 15 years ago. Intrigued by the great photos that his father was producing, Anctil bought his first camera and began taking photos. Experimenting with subject matter, he found that it was the endless opportunities that nature provided that most inspired him.

As he traveled throughout the New England region, he found subjects that were so interesting and beautiful they had to be recorded for others to view. Anctil enjoys photographing scenes as others may not see them. Always looking for a different vantage point or angle to express his interpretation of a scene is what motivates him.

Anctil enjoys working in 35mm film format, color and black and white, as well as digital format. Many photos were taken in Maine. His favorite area, though, is the White Mountains of New Hampshire.

Anctil’s work is available in many different formats, including digital files, prints and photo greeting cards. His work has appeared in yearbooks, in picture framing shops and craft shops. He has also had a photo published as a book cover for a novelist. For more information, e-mail [email protected]
