Anna Smith

Auburn – Anna Smith, 74, of Norway died Friday, May 5, at the Hospice House after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Munich, Germany on Aug. 4, 1931, the daughter of Joseph and Anna Lallinger Zierer. She married Glenwood Smith on Jan. 27, 1958 in Munich, Germany.

Her favorite things were her trips to Lancaster, Pa. each year, camp outs with Chapter 28, Good Sam Club and her dog “Uncle Henry.” The last few years she had been a caregiver to her mother-in-law. To her husband, she was a guardian angel.

She is survived by her husband of Norway; her children, Mike Smith of Roxbury, Karen and her husband, Allen Tibbetts, of Roxbury and Larry and his wife, June, of Dixfield; a granddaughter, Jennifer Smith of Dixfield; a brother, Kurt Zierer and his wife, Karen and a sister, Emma Zierer, all of Munich, Germany; a sister-in-law, Louise Annette Smith of South Attleboro, Mass.; and a very dear friend, Tilly Firth of Saco.

She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Joseph Zierer.
