Antonia Lea Nadeau


AUBURN – Antonia L. Nadeau, 83, of Ledgeview Cove, died Wednesday, Jan. 3, at home, with her family at her side.

She was born April 20, 1923, in Auburn, a daughter of the late Arthur and Amanda (St Pierre) Auger, she was educated in Auburn and graduated from Edward Little High School, Class of 1942. She worked at her family-owned grocery store and textile mills.

She married Bertrand L. Nadeau in 1952, and together they raised five children. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, painting, needlepoint, cooking and reading in her later years. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband.

She will be remembered for her quiet sense of humor and creative nature. She was a member of the Ladies of St. Anne and Sacred Heart Senior Citizens.

She is survived by her husband; a daughter, Irene Therriault, and her husband, Roger, of Auburn; three sons, Donat Nadeau, and his wife, Sonya, of Minot, Richard B. Nadeau, and wife, Emily, also of Minot and Robert W. Nadeau of Auburn; a grandson, Lukas Nadeau of Clinton; three brothers, Arthur, Alphonse and Andre Auger; four sisters, Aline Comeau, Anna Siteman, Alexina Theberge and Alice Jacques; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by a son, Normand D. Nadeau; and a sister, Alma Boisvert.
