Michaud in parade

LEWISTON – U.S. Rep. Michael Michaud will participate in the Lewiston/Auburn Memorial Day parade at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, May 27. Other units that have registered for the parade include American Legion Auxiliaries, Amvets and VFW posts, also the Androscoggin Sheriff’s Department, the Salvation Army and the Dirigo Girl Scouts.

A memorial ceremony and unveiling of the 10th stone will follow the parade. The L & A Veterans Council will present “thank-you for services rendered” certificates to all Korean War veterans. For more information, call Bert Dutil at 786-2305.

VFW installation

LEWISTON – The Longley-Dionne VFW Post 9150 will meet at noon Sunday, May 28, at the Lewiston Lodge of Elks, 1675 Lisbon St.

The agenda will include installation of officers and discussion of poppy sales and veterans program.

All officers and members are encouraged to attend. Following installation of officers, a light lunch will be served. Eligible veterans wishing to join the VFW are encouraged to attend. Bring a copy of eligibility DD Form 214.

Support group

LEWISTON – The Women’s Fibromyalgia Support Group, a personal journey of self-help and healing, meets from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Mondays at Wisdom’s Center, 97 Blake St. Educational materials are provided. The group is facilitated by Tina Gilbert, BSW/LSW, and Sue Dow, a former mental health worker. For more information and to register, call 784-0155.
