Dow seniors

AUBURN – Robin Dow Senior Citizens will meet at 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 24, at the Alden M. Gayton Post 31, American Legion, 426 Washington St. Memorial services will be held in memory of members who died during the year. The service will be under the direction of the chaplain, Patricia Donohue. There will be the usual raffle table following the meeting, and bingo will be played after lunch.

President Merry Strout conducted the May 10 meeting. Members having birthdays in May were recognized. Attendance prize winners were Evelyn Rose and Shirley Huntley; pot of gold, Nancy Roy, Edwina Bonney and Felix Yurkston. Bingo was played at the close of the meeting and a bag lunch.

For reservations for the trip to Foster’s Lobster House, York, cost $49, June 30, contact trip chairwoman Evelyn Sawing at Robin Dow meetings or phone her at 998-4577. One does not have to be a member in order to attend.

Lyme disease

AUBURN – The Auburn Lyme Disease Support Group will meet from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 24, in the Auburn Police Department community room. Patients, families and the public are invited. Topics will include severe symptoms and the rally on June 2 in Hartford, Conn. Contact group leader Sharon Hawkes at shawkes57@msn.com or 344-0026 for more information.

Grange program

AUBURN – Members of Danville Junction Grange will meet at the hall at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25. The master, executive committee and those interested will meet at 6:30 prior to the regular meeting. A memorial program will be presented by Chaplain Judy Holbrook. Refreshments will be served at the close of the meeting. All members and guests are welcome.

Marine Corps

AUBURN – The Central Maine Detachment, Marine Corps League, will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at the New Auburn American Legion Post 153, 71 South Main St., New Auburn (use side door on Cook Street). The meeting will include monthly reports, Memorial Day parade and other activities. Marines are welcome to bring up other ideas.

Rose Day fundraising will also be discussed. The funds will be used for veterans in need. Any Marine who would like information on joining can contact Raymond Lemieux at 784-0656.

All Marines are asked to be at Lewiston City Park by 9 a.m. Monday, Memorial Day, as the parade will starts at 9:30 a.m.

Scrabble meeting

AUBURN – The Scrabble Club will meet from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday, May 28, at the Auburn Police Department conference room. All Scrabble are enthusiasts are welcome to play in tournament format. The club will plan for its one-year anniversary. Call director Sharon Hawkes at 344-0026 for more information.

NEW GLOUCESTER – Sabbathday Lake Grange will hold a yard sale from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 10, rain or shine. Table rental is $10. For more information or to reserve a table, call Pam Dyer at 657-4612.

Flea market

NEW GLOUCESTER – The Post 6 Amvets Auxiliary, Route 100, will hold its annual flea market from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 22. Tables are $10 each. To reserve a table, call Joyce Wotherspoon at 926-4693 or Joyce Hamilton at 926-4079. Cut-off date for reservations is July 18.
