AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will host a table lodge at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 20, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. Tickets are $30 each and can be purchased at the door. MECHANIC FALLS – The Tri-Town Optimist Club of Mechanic Falls, Minot and Poland will hold its second annual oratorical contest at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, May 25, at Elm Street School gym.
Ten teenage contestants will compete for first-, second- and third-place medallions, with the top three going on to compete in the district on June 14 in Auburn. The three winners there will be awarded scholarships of $1,500, $1,000 and $500.
Carl Beckett of the Tri-Town Optimist Club is coordinating the contest with the help of El Fanus of Poland Elementary, Cheryl Logan of Minot School, Janet Jones of Poland Middle and Karen Downing of Elm Street. The public is invited to attend contest at Elm Street School.
LEWISTON – The Lewiston-Auburn Social Bridge Club winners of the annual ACBL Membership Game were: first, Lucille Bilodeau and Luke Merry, first overall; second, Cynthia Bonsey and Les Buzzell, second overall; third, Martine Begert and Rosemarie Goodwin, third overall; fourth, Richard Balian and Pete Cummings, first in B overall; fifth Eileen Potvin and Della Starbird, second in B overall; third in B, Marta Clements and Nancy Farmer; second in C, Shirley Banks and Beverly Dolan.

AUBURN – HRH Northern New England (formerly the Dunlop Insurance) has been honored by Habitat for Humanity with the Golden House Award. The award is given to a business for significant accomplishments that advance the mission of Habitat for Humanity.
HRH Northern New England donated $80,000 toward the construction of a home built on Malilly Road, Portland. HRH organized, recruited and schedule 140 volunteers comprised of employees, their client partners and carrier partners to work on the house.
