Arthur B. Hatch


LEEDS – Arthur B. Hatch, 69, a resident of River Road, Leeds, died Friday afternoon at his home following a lingering illness.

He was born Oct. 23, 1937, in Wilton, the son of Ivory E. and Gertrude V. (Cocharan) Hatch. He attended school in Monmouth.

Arthur worked for Tri-City Dodge in Augusta and later was self-employed at B & B Auto Repair in Monmouth.

He enjoyed playing cards, picking on everyone that came through the door, camping and traveling.

He is survived by his companion, Irene Hafford, of Leeds; two daughters, Gertrude “Judy” Escalona Justo and her husband, Pablo, of Livermore, and Cheryl Leet and her fiancé, Dale, of Lewiston; six sons, Arthur George Hatch and his wife, Kelly, of Hebron, Darrell Hafford and his wife, Jean, of Hermon, Dale Hafford and his fiancée, Jan, of Mechanic Falls, Darren Hafford and his wife, Jessica, of Turner, Herbert Hafford and his wife, Angel, of Leeds, and Pete Hafford and his wife, Tina, of Lewiston; 27 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and may nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Lawrence and Laffette Hatch.
