MONMOUTH — Arthur Esman Sr., 87, a resident of Monmouth, died Tuesday, Jan. 9, in Monmouth. He was born in Auburn on June 7, 1930, the son of Glendon W. Greer and Beatrice Eleanor (Bernard) Greer. He attended Garfiled Jr. High School in Revere, Mass., and Edward Little High School in Auburn.
Arthur proudly served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. On Jan. 10, 1953, he married Joan Ellen Hawkins, the love of his life, in Auburn. Arthur had been a self-employed truck driver for 45 years.
He is survived by his wife, Joan Esman, of Monmouth; three daughters, Leiarna Mae Esman Parkin, of Wales, Peggy Sue Esman Savage, of Monmouth, Wendy Jean Esman Deschenes, of Auburn; two sons, Arthur “Joey” Bernand Esman Jr., of Litchfield, and Glendon “Glen” Richard Esman, of Monmouth; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a special friend of the family, Carlaine Bovio; and his cat, Chester. He was predeceased by his parents; a great-grandson, Camden Scott Emmons; and a brother, Richard Ally Esman.
