1926 – 2014
AUBURN — Arthur Joseph Cote, 88, of Auburn, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 13.
Born in Lewiston on Aug. 11, 1926, he was a son of the late Emmanuel and Malvina (Lizotte) Cote. He was married to the late Francoise Bougie on July 4, 1955.
Arthur served in the National Guard. He worked at Geiger Brothers, Hillcrest Foods and Royal Typewriter. When he was home, he enjoyed puttering around, fixing things and woodworking. He loved socializing with friends and family and just sitting on his swing, feeding the birds.
Survivors include three sons, Paul and wife, Brenda Cote, of Lewiston, John Cote of Auburn and Danny Cote of Lewiston; and a daughter, Joanne Michaud, of Leeds. He is also survived by seven sisters; three brothers; his grandchildren, Paul Cote Jr. and Matthew Cote of Auburn, Amy Cote of Farmingdale, Lena Cote, Rebecca Cote and Marie Cote of Lewiston, Tasha Lemay of Litchfield and Jennifer Givens of Brunswick; and many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Besides his wife and parents, Arthur was predeceased by three brothers, Robert, Romeo and Ernest; and three sisters, Irene, Noella and Emma.
