PARIS — The Moore Park Art Show in South Paris is seeking exhibitors for a celebration and sale of original arts from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, featuring a concert of guitarist Denny Breau, a children’s concert by Mary Christine Hargreaves and poetry readings by Timothy Richardson.
Artists are being sought representing a broad spectrum, including paintings, drawings, photography, wood, metal and glass sculpture; fine jewelry; handmade prints; fiber and textile/fiber arts. All work must be the original design and creation of the exhibitor. Booths are limited to 60. Artists will also have the opportunity to submit work for awards judging.
The Western Maine Art Group (WMAG), which organized the first Moore Park Art Show in 1968 concurrently with the Norway Arts Festival, will lend show management experience as a sponsor, supporting the efforts of the South Paris Parks and Recreation Department, which is administering the event.
“In addition to being a beautiful setting, Moore Park is one of the best venues for an art show because it is located on one of the most-traveled roads in New England. Serving as the busiest tourist pipeline in Western Maine, Route 26 affords abundant opportunities for our exhibitors to capture an audience,” said Show Director Aranka Matolcsy
Single 10 x 10-foot booths are $60 for a single exhibitor, $35 a piece for a shared booth up to four exhibitors, and $75 for booths shared by groups of five or more. Applications must be received by July 15 for inclusion in the Moore Park Art Program. Food vendors are also welcome to inquire about applications. Rain date is Aug. 15. Western Maine Art Group Members receive a $5 discount on the application fee.
