Auburn man arrested for allegedly assaulting Saco cab driver

SACO (AP) — Police have arrested two men they allege assaulted and robbed a Saco cab driver.

Police were called by a Twin City Taxi dispatcher who told them that one of the company’s drivers had been attacked at about 2 a.m. Tuesday by two men he had driven to a hotel in Saco from Old Orchard Beach.

Officers responding to the Brookside Inn found the driver bleeding from a cut above his right eye. He was treated at a hospital.

Police say the passengers punched the driver and demanded all his money when he was dropping them off.

Police arrested 45-year-old Lance Palmer, of Auburn, and 42-year-old Travis Donahue, of Old Orchard Beach, and charged them with aggravated assault and robbery. They are being held on $10,000 bail.
