Auction and dance to benefit Phillips teen

PHILLIPS — Taylor Lane, 13, of Phillips, was recently diagnosed with a rare form of lymphoma which has sadly spread from her neck to her abdomen. She is getting treatments in Portland, which is about two hours from home. Fundraisers are being held to help support the family for travel expenses and for medical costs that are not covered by the family’s insurance.

Taylor is an avid mini-cup car racer and in 2012 won Rookie of the Year. She competes in a sport that’s male-dominated, but she likes the added challenge.

A fundraising page has been set up at

An auction and dance will be held Saturday, Jan. 10, at Nostalgia Tavern, 13 Commercial Road, Kingfield, to help raise funds for the family.

The auction will be at 6 p.m., followed by a dance with Dreamin Big DJ/Karaoke. Admission is $5 at the door; all proceeds go to Taylor.
