1957 – 2015
BRUNSWICK — Audrey “Kim” Carpentier, 57, died at a local hospital early on Monday, Aug. 24.
She was born in Lewiston on Oct. 19, 1957, to Kenneth Webster and Shirley Skay. Her mother’s second husband, Daniel Kavanaugh, adopted her and the couple raised their family in the Lewiston area. Kim was baptized in St. Michael’s Parish in Auburn, and she was very proud to be one of the first four-year female graduates in the Class of 1976 at Hebron Academy in Hebron. After attending an undergraduate year in Colorado, she came home a diehard Denver Broncos fan, much to her family’s dismay. Over the past 17 years, she has lived in Brunswick with her companion, Neil Marquis.
Most of her employment was engaged in hospitality, having been a manager at the former Atrium Hotel in Brunswick, the Chuck Wagon Restaurant, and within the Maine Course Hospitality Group. Most recently, she was employed by Foot & Ankle Associates, Brunswick. She also especially enjoyed her time caring for the children alongside her sister, Kelly, at Kelly’s Kare in Brunswick.
She loved most every creature, excluding spiders. She enjoyed the peacefulness of going camping, which she did frequently at numerous locations and in any weather — although her favorite place in the world was Popham Beach. You could always find her supporting her family at sporting events; including her son’s long football career and most recently, her nephew’s college lacrosse games and grand-nephew’s T-ball games. If she wasn’t finding respite in the outdoors, she was enjoying the love of her family, and the increasing number of grandchildren and great nieces and nephews.
Kim is survived by her adopted father, Dan Kavanaugh, of Brunswick; her longtime companion, Neil Marquis of Brunswick; her son, Paul Carpentier II of Brunswick; her daughter, Briana E. Doten of Bath; a brother, Troy Kavanaugh and his wife, Shelby, of Topsham; a sister, Kelly and her husband, Rick Desjardins, of Brunswick; two half-brothers, Kevin Webster of Portland, and Greg Webster and his wife, Shannon, of Mechanic Falls; her stepdaughters, Hilary Warren and her husband, Philip, of West Bath, and Hannah Marquis of Winston-Salem, N.C.; grandchildren, Amaiya Warren and Philip Warren Jr. of West Bath; nieces and nephews, AJ Kavanaugh, Patrick Desjardins, Danielle Kavanaugh, Burleigh Desjardins, Nicholas Desjardins and Will Kavanaugh; great-nephew, Anthony Kavanaugh; and great-niece, Marleigh Kavanaugh.
