Christine Penny and Theresa Sweet of Bags of Love in Dixfield recently visited the Pine Needles Quilt Guild in Norway to show bags they made for children who have been removed from their homes by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services. Each bag contains a quilt, stuffed animal, toiletries and toys appropriate for the age and gender. Bags of Love was started in 2004 in Oklahoma and has 135 chapters in the U.S. To date, the Dixfield chapter has delivered 207 bags to DHHS in Lewiston.
