Ballplayers will square off in Bridgton

BRIDGTON – The 3rd Annual Four Square World Championships will be held Saturday, Feb. 3, at the Bridgton Town Hall. This school-yard game popular many years ago has become a hotly contested competition, drawing players from all over New England. This year’s latest entry is a team from the University of Connecticut.

Hosted by Peter Lowell, executive director of the Lakes Environmental Association, the fundraiser supports the environmental work done in the Lakes Region.

Several of last year’s winners will be back to defend their titles.

Players of all skill levels and playing styles are welcome. If interested, preregister by e-mail at [email protected] There is a $10 registration fee for competitors. The event is open to the public and free to spectators.

The competition will begin at 5 p.m. The Town Hall is on North High Street. For more information, call Lowell at (207) 647-8580.
