1930 – 2014
AUBURN — Barbara A. Schutt, 84, a resident of Minot Avenue, formerly of Lewiston, passed away peacefully at Clover Manor Health Care Thursday morning, Oct. 2, with her loving family by her side following a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston, July 26, 1930, the daughter of Leo and Florence (Bryant) Harrigan.
Barbara attended local schools and was a 1948 graduate of Lewiston High School. She was a longtime parishioner of the former St. Patrick’s Church. She was employed over 20 years for the Lewiston School System as guidance secretary for Lewiston High School.
Over the years, Barbara had many lifelong friends in Lewiston with whom she shared many wonderful and memorable trips to Las Vegas, Hawaii and Florida. Her greatest love was her family. She enjoyed attending her two grandchildren’s sporting events. She found great pleasure in watching them both grow into young adults and being an instrumental part of their lives.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Schutt of Lynn, Mass., and James Schutt and wife, Louise, of Gray; and two grandchildren, Beth Corbeau and husband, Matthew, of Buxton, and James Schutt Jr. of Gray.
The family would like to thank the caregivers of Clover Manor and Androscoggin Home Care & Hospice for the wonderful care she received during her illness.
