Barry W. Hill


FORT MYERS, Fla. — Barry W. Hill, 63, of Norway, and Lehigh Acres, Fla., died on April 7, at Lee Memorial Hospital, from injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident a few days earlier.

He was born in Norway, Aug. 31, 1946, the son of Derwood H. and Lelia A. (Pike) Hill.

He graduated from Oxford Hills High School, a Navy Veteran of the Vietnam Conflict and was the owner of Barry Hill Construction and Carpentry in Norway. He has worked on numerous homes and other projects from Maine to Hawaii. He was extremely proud of his family’s willingness to help each other in times of need.

He is survived by his wife of 24 years, Joan E. (Hemingway) Hill; his children, Alan W. Hill and his wife, Tammy, of Norway and Lecia Curtis and her husband, Daniel, of Auburn; his stepson, Timothy Packard of Oxford; his mother, Lelia A. Hill of Norway; his two brothers, Dan and the late Karen Hill, of South Paris and Scott Hill and his wife, Linda, of Norway; and his four grandchildren, Samantha, D.J, Peter and Matthew.

He was predeceased by his father, Derwood H. Hill.
