Bean supper to benefit Diann Ackerly


LEWISTON — The Rev. Louis J. Fortier Council 106 of Prince of Peace Parish is sponsoring a benefit bean supper for Diann (Latuscha) Ackerly on from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8, at Holy Cross Church Hall, 1080 Lisbon St.

Acklery, 60, is the wife of Scott Akerley, mother of three and grandmother of nine. She was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 2009 and had a double mastectomy with reconstructive surgery at Mercy Hospital in Portland. She stayed cancer free for five years, until April of 2014, when she was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer.

In addition to the benefit supper, the event will have many raffles and a 50/50 drawing.

Tickets are $7 per person; $3 for kids ages 4-10; and 3 and under are free.

Tickets should be purchased by Nov. 4. Limited tickets will be available at the door.
