Bears fall

ORONO (AP) – Maine lost its third straight home game Friday against Northeastern 6-1.

Anchored by a well-balanced attack, the Huskies (9-11-4, 6-9-4) saw five different players score. Northeastern won its first game against Maine in 10 years.

Despite a 1-0 lead on a Michel Leveille shot at the end of the first period, the Black Bears (15-7-2, 8-7-1) failed to give Northeastern goalie Brad Thiessen any trouble.

The eventual game winner came on a Chad Costello powerplay at 14:19 of the second period, just five minutes after Northeastern started off the period with a game-tying goal from Jacques Perreault.

The Huskies continued to frustrate the Black Bears, thanks to fast goals from Greg Costa, Mike Morris and Randy Guzior.
