RUMFORD — Bernice J. DiConzo, 83, of Rumford, died Tuesday, Sept. 12, at the Rumford Hospital.
She was born in Rumford on March 17, 1934, the daughter of Edward and Madeline (Perry) Jacques, and graduated from Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1952.
Bernice was a communicant of the Parish of the Holy Savior, St. Athanasius & St. John Church, a member of the VFW Auxiliary, Chisholm Ski Club and Stephens High School Alumni Association. She had been very active on the Democratic Committee, served as a deputy sheriff for Oxford County and Clerk of Courts for Oxford County. She loved to relax by painting by numbers and spending time with her family.
Bernice was married in Aberdeen, Md., on Oct. 17, 1953, to Nicholas R. DiConzo, of Rumford, who survives her. Other survivors include five daughters, Brenda Stewart and husband, Everett of Topsham, Marisa Bethea of Gloucester, Va., Lisa Carrier and husband, Bob of Rumford, Josanne Dolloff and husband, Chet of Rumford, and Renee Collins and husband, Gary of St. Augustine, Fla.; a son, Nicholas E. DiConzo and wife, Donna Marie of West Paris; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
