Best-selling author will chat with fans

NORWAY – New York Times best-selling author Tess Gerritsen will be guest writer for a Fireside Chat Friday, Feb. 2, at Norway Memorial Library.

Gerritsen has written medical thrillers, gaining widespread recognition with the publication of “Harvest” in 1996. She began her career as a physician who wrote in her spare time. She had published a few romance novels when she became inspired to use her medical expertise and write a thriller.

Gerritsen has since retired from her career as an internist and writes full time. Her most recent publication is “The Mephisto Club,” released in 2006.

This is the second of three Fireside Chats held at Norway Memorial Library, where the public is invited to pull up a chair to the candlelit fireplace and enjoy listening to and talking with a writer.

Authors are invited to read from their works, discuss their process, talk about their experiences in becoming and working as writers, answer questions or present in whatever way they feel most comfortable.

Refreshments with a “death by chocolate” theme will be served. This event, scheduled to begin at 7:30 p.m., is free and open to the public. For more information, call the library at 743-5309.
