AUGUSTA — Bibiane Legassey, 87, died Thursday, Feb. 9, at MaineGeneral Medical Center, Augusta Campus, following a long illness.
She was born in Winslow, P.Q., Canada, June 2, 1924, a daughter of the late Thomas and Angelena Dupuis Grenier.
She had been employed by Bates Mfg., Edwards Division, for 25 years. She also worked as a self-employed housekeeper for many years. She was a communicant of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Augusta.
She is survived by three sons, Gary Legassey, Reginald Legassey and Marcel Legassey, all of Augusta; a daughter, Claudette Lewis of Augusta; six grandchildren, Melissa Legassey, Israel Legassey, Angela Legassey, Jonathan Legassey, Jacob Legassey and Monica Lewis; five great-grandchildren, Trysten, Haley, Jamie, Zachary and Caleb; as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband, Philip G. Legassey; a son, Robert Legassey; a grandson, Robert Lewis; a brother, Jean Claude Grenier; and a sister, Cecile Breton.
