Bike raffle will benefit Auburn Public Library

AUBURN — For $10 a ticket, the Auburn Public Library is raffling off chances on a brand new bicycle valued at $750. Only 200 tickets will be sold, said Library Director Lynn Lockwood.

Proceeds from the raffle will go to support the purchase of library materials in all formats for children, teens and adults.

The winner of the bicycle, donated by the Maine Cycling Club and Rainbow Bicycle, may choose from a road bike, a hybrid bike, a mountain bike or a child’s bike, and Rainbow Bicycle will fit it to the new owner.

“The Maine Cycling Club and Rainbow Bicycle are reaching out to support our great community library and to encourage people to enjoy all of the benefits of bicycling around Auburn and Lewiston,” said Maine Cycling Club board member Joe Pelliccia.

Tickets are available at the Auburn Public Library, 49 Spring St., during regular working hours. The winner will be drawn at 6:45 p.m. Monday, June 28, just prior to the magic show for the Children’s Summer Reading Program. The winner does not need to be in attendance.
