LEWISTON — A talk about Great Blue Herons will be presented Monday, Nov. 3, at the monthly meeting of the Stanton Bird Club.
The presentation will be by Danielle D’Auria, a wildlife biologist for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife. She will focus on the Great Blue Heron monitoring program and key findings thus far in the program.
D’Auria, has focused on understanding statewide populations of colonial wading birds, secretive marsh birds, black terns, loons, and other rate water birds. Since 2009, she has spent a majority of her time researching why great blue herons have undergone a decline along Maine’s coast.
The Stanton meeting and D’Auria’s talk will take place at 6:30 p.m. at USM L/A, Androscoggin Rm, 51 Westminster St. The meeting is free and open to the public.
