Board orders driveway closed

MINOT – Selectmen ordered one of Norman Gauthier’s two driveways onto Marston Hill Road blocked off because it is constructed near the crest of a hill and is a hazard.

Selectmen asked Road Manager Arlan Sunders to place a request with Maine Department of Transportation to review the 45 mile-per-hour speed limit on Marston Hill Road. If the MDOT study recommends reducing the limit significantly, selectmen agreed to reconsider their order to block the driveway.

Selectmen also approved extending Town Administrator Rhonda Irish’s contract another year and approved Treasurer Connie Taker’s annual letter of agreement.
