Board to revisit liquor license

LIVERMORE FALLS – Selectmen will hold a special meeting Wednesday to consider renewing a liquor license and special amusements permits at Riverview Pub on Depot Street.

Selectmen asked that owner Wes Bowen work with police and Town Manager Martin Puckett to draw up guidelines to protect the public after concerns were voiced at a hearing last week.

Besides public comment, police Lt. Tom Gould told selectmen that the department does not have the manpower to continue to respond to the number of complaints, including fistfights outside the bar, that have occurred over the past year.

The board previously asked the town to extend the license-renewal period 30 days to get guidelines drawn up.

The meeting starts at 6 p.m. at the town office.
