Body of missing man found in Hull

HULL, Mass. (AP) – A body that washed up on a Hull beach was identified as that of a 26-year-old man missing since a canoe accident in February, police said on Thursday.

Steven Coble and his 19-year-old cousin, Brad Turner of Rockland, were fishing off Hull on Feb. 17 when their canoe flipped over.

Turner was rescued after being found on a breakwall several hours after the accident.

On Tuesday, a woman walking her dog along Crescent Beach discovered a body, which the state’s medical examiner’s office identified as Coble, Hull Capt. Robert C. Sawtelle said.

The Coast Guard said neither man wore a life jacket or survival equipment. The water temperature at the time of the accident was just under 40 degrees.
