Bomb squad investigates report of grenade at Skowhegan motel


SKOWHEGAN — The Maine State Police bomb squad has been called to a Skowhegan motel following a report that a grenade was found.

The Online Sentinel reports that part of the Towne Motel was evacuated on Tuesday. The grenade was reportedly found with the safety pin removed between the building and an oil tank.

Skowhegan police, fire and rescue were also called to the motel. Police tackled and handcuffed a man after he crossed the yellow police tape cordoning off the motel.
