Boys’ roundup: Vikings sidestep Indians


PARIS — Oxford Hills used a 15-9 run in the third quarter to pull away from Skowhegan and pulled away to record a 62-48 win in a KVAC boys’ matchup Tuesday.

Andrew Fleming led the Vikings (4-5) with 12 points, while Dalton Rice and Jake Plummer each chipped in with 10. Luke Davison also contributed with seven points and 11 rebounds.

Isaac Withum led the struggling Indians (1-8) with 20 points, including four shots from beyond the arc. Taylor Bacon chipped in with 16 points and 12 rebounds.

Spruce Mountain 67, Telstar 40

JAY — Saving the best for last, Spruce Mountain went on a 20-10 tear in the final frame to secure a 67-40 win over Telstar in MVC boys’ action Tuesday.

Peter Theriault led the Phoenix (5-4) with 16 points and five steals, while Scottie Hall also netted 16 points and made seven assists.


The struggling Rebels (1-7) were paced by veteran Mike Delduca with a game-high 25 points, the only player in double figures.

Rangeley 55, GPC 34

SACO — Rangeley wasted little time taking command, sprinting out to a seven-point lead in the first quarter before racing away to post a 55-34 victory over Greater Portland Christian Tuesday.

Orrin Mitchell led the Lakers (2-4) with a game-high 18 points, while A.J. Elmes tallied 16 and Mike Hayler added 15 in a balanced attack.

David Duval led GPC (0-6) with 16 points, while James Perkins chipped in with 10.

Oak Hill 51, Monmouth 42

MONMOUTH — After building a 13-point advantage in the first half, Oak Hill hung on for a 51-42 win over Monmouth in a MVC boys tilt Tuesday.

Parker Asselin led the Raiders (5-4) with a game-high 24 points, while Derek Gamage chipped in with nine and Trevor Samson added eight.

The Mustangs (4-4) were paced by Drew McFaren with a solid 11-point effort, while Brandon Goff added seven.

St. Dom’s 46, Lisbon 36

AUBURN — St. Dom’s controlled the first three quarters and cruised to a 46-36 win over Lisbon in MVC basketball action Tuesday.

Eric Ulin scored 10 points and grabbed eight rebounds to lead the Saints. Madison Jalbert also scored 10 points, while Mike Bryant added nine points.

Zak Johnson had a fine all-around game with four points, six rebounds and 10 assists.

Tucker Brannon led the Greyhounds with nine points, while Mason Haley added six points.

Falmouth 77, Gray-NG 28

GRAY — Charlie Fay scored the game-high 16 points and Grant Burfeind added 13 as Falmouth marched past Gray-New Gloucester with a 77-28 win in a boys’ basketball game Tuesday.

The Yachtsmen sailed out in front with a 41-18 lead by halftime and held the Patriots (1-6) to single-digit scoring for three quarters. Jack Simonds added 12 points for Falmouth.

For the Patriots, Sam Johnson scored eight points.

Camden Hills 67, Leavitt 59

TURNER — Collin Morse lit it up for a game-high 27 points to lead Camden Hills to a 67-59 win over Leavitt Tuesday night.

Camden Hills (7-2) led by 10 at halftime and 14 at the end of three and cruised to victory.

Connor Hart added 13 points for the Windjammers.

Andrew Middleton led the Hornets (3-6) with 25 points, 10 rebounds and five blocks while Isaiah Clader added 13 points.

Yarmouth 67, Poland 44

YARMOUTH — Yarmouth went on a 9-0 run to start the second half and pull away from Poland for a 67-44 victory in WMC basketball action Tuesday night.

Adam Labrie led all scorers with 20 points for Yarmouth, including four 3-pointers.

David Murphy added 15 points for the Clippers. C.J. Marin led the Knights (2-7) with 17 points, which Josh Gary added nine points.
