DIXFIELD – Ludden Memorial Library will present “Magical Wonders” by Dennis Labbe at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, July 31. The event is part of the summer reading program, “Get a Clue @ Your Library and Come See the Mystery of Magic.” Reading awards will be presented.
NORTH WATERFORD – A public supper will be held at the North Waterford Congregational Church from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7. The church is located on the Five Kezars Road opposite Melby’s Market.
The menu will include baked beans and American chop suey. The price for adults is $7; children under 12, $3.50.
Regular Sunday worship services will be moved to the Stoneham Congregational Church, Route 5, Stoneham, from Sunday, Aug. 5, through the end of October. Bible study begins at 9:15 a.m. with the regular worship service starting at 10 a.m. each Sunday.
Bake, book sale
FAYETTE – The Fayette Fire Auxiliary and Underwood Library will hold a bake, book and yard sale from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 11, at the Old Firehouse, Route 17. For more information, call 685-4702.
Concerts on lawn
WILTON – The East Wilton Union Church will host its annual August “Concerts on the Lawn” starting Sunday, Aug. 12. The public is invited to the 6 p.m. concerts.
Chairs will be provided, but residents are welcome to bring their own. In case of inclement weather, the concerts will be held inside. Light refreshments and a time of fellowship will follow each concert. The concerts are free.
The schedule is as follows: Aug. 12, Journey Home, a family Gospel singing group from Wilton; Aug. 19, New Beginnings, a Gospel duo from Farmington; and Aug. 26, David Mumford, a Gospel singer/evangelist from Milo. For more information, call 645-4297.
GREENWOOD – The annual summer picnic for the Jackson Silver Post, American Legion, and Auxiliary will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23, instead of Aug. 16, at the Legion Hall. Those attending are asked to bring a salad or dessert to share.
