Grange to meet
POLAND – Excelsior Grange 5 will meet at the hall, 446 Harris Hill Road, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 3. The program will be in observance of Valentine’s Day with refreshments following. All grange members and guests are invited.
Food of India
LEWISTON – Lots to Gardens will present the “Food of India” in the Lewiston Public Library Children’s Department from 3:30 to 5 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 1. The program is designed to teach nutrition, healthy eating habits and cooking techniques to children. The program will include interactive games and snacks. LISBON FALLS – The Lisbon Area Widows Fellowship will meet on Monday, Feb. 5, at the Lisbon United Methodist Church, School Street. The gathering will open for fellowship at 11:30 a.m. followed by a potluck lunch at noon. All interested widows in the area are invited to attend.
Art club program
AUBURN – The Auburn Art Club will be entertained by Phil House, pianist/organist, at 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, in the sanctuary of the High Street Congregational Church..
House has appeared in many concerts locally and around the state. He lived in Nashville, Tenn., for several years, playing the organ and piano for a gospel church there. After returning to Maine, he became organist at the First Universalist Church in Auburn. He has recorded many albums and has been on a concert tour in Vienna, Austria.
Hostesses for the meeting will be Donna Sweetser, Joan Libby and Margaret Savignano.
AUBURN – Ashlar Lodge 105, AF and AM, will hold the annual communication at 7:30 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at the Auburn Masonic Temple, 1021 Turner St. The meeting was originally scheduled for Jan. 15, but was postponed due to a snowstorm. Tips on vision
LEWISTON – Dr. Reg Mailhot, Family Eye Health and Contact Lens Center, will present “Senior Vision, Tips For Better Living” from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 8, at d’Youville Pavilion.
Mailhot will discuss strategies that seniors can use to combat common eye-related ailments so they may continue to live productive lives. The presentation is part of d’Youville Pavilion’s “Successful Aging Series.”

Adult ed class
LEWISTON – In the age of TiVo, satellite radio, iPods and reduced newspaper circulation, what is the best way for the small business owner to maximize their marketing dollars? Candace Sanborn of Encompass Marketing and Design will help create a hybrid plan that uses traditional media, but with unique approach.
The course will be offered through Lewiston Adult Education from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 6, in the Shipyard Lounge, Androscoggin Bank Colisee. The course is $30 for Lewiston residents; $35, nonresidents.
