Methodist supper

NEW SHARON – A baked bean and casserole supper will be held at the New Sharon United Methodist Church annex from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 27. The menu will also include chop suey, cole slaw, hot rolls, salads, home-made pies and coffee.

The supper is sponsored by the Women’s Society of the church for current expenses. This will be the final supper for the 2006 season.


FARMINGTON – The public is invited to worship with the congregation at Henderson Memorial Baptist Church this Sunday at 10:30 a.m. when Pastor Susan Crane’s message will be “Jesus Prays for Us.” People will be bringing items to place on the Communion Table in memory of loved ones. All are welcome.

Jam sessions

DIXFIELD – Countryfolk Music Theatre on U.S. Route 2 in East Dixfield opens this Memorial Day weekend. The schedule includes Country Pickin’ Acoustic Jam Session from 6 to 9 p.m. Friday, May 26, and a Country Sunday Jam Session with a potluck meal (bring your favorite dish to share) from noon to 6 p.m. Sunday, May 28.

Countryfolk Music Theatre has two covered stages, dance floor and spectator area and offers free, continuous country, folk, gospel and bluegrass music with two housebands and 20 to 40 guest musicians each weekend all summer.

The sessions are always free to the public. Please bring chairs, food, beverage, friends and family.

Church yard sale

DIXFIELD – The Dixfield Congregational Church will have an inside yard sale from 9 a.m. till noon Friday, May 26, at the church annex on High Street. The public is invited to come early and fill a bag.
