Help needed

SUMNER – Help is needed at the Curtis Rec Ball Field on Barrows Road on Saturday, May 13.

Coach Arlene Bedard and the Sumner softball teams will meet at noon for raking, repairing and painting the ball field.

Those attending should bring rakes and gloves. The season starts in June.

Women to meet

SOUTH PARIS – The Christian Women United will meet at the First Congregational Church on Tuesday, May 16.

Luncheon will be served at 11:30 a.m.

The speaker will be Diane Muise of Auburn, who will also provide music.

Plant sale

NORWAY – Progress Center will hold its 15th annual sale of annuals, perennials and hanging plants from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday, May 18, and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, May 19, at 35 Cottage St.

The proceeds will supplement the activity fund, which pays for special outings and activities for the people that attend the programs.

There will be a door prize and a 50/50 raffle. For more information, call the Progress Center at 743-8049.

Bridge winners

NORWAY – Oxford Hills Duplicate Bridge met May 5 at the Fare Share Commons, 443 Main St.

Winners for the session were: first, Richard Balian and Mimi Bell; tied for second and third, Bill Bowman and Woody Mercier.

Duplicate Bridge is played at 9 a.m. every Friday and all bridge players are welcome. A partner is guaranteed. Parking and entrance are behind the building. For more information, call Les Buzzell at 783-4153.
