Lodge to meet
JAY – Charity Rebekah Lodge will meet at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the home of Betty Gillespie. Lunch will be served. The program will focus on honoring mothers.
WILTON – Friendship Squares will host a square dance starting at 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Cushing School. Caller will be Marty Van Wart and cuer, Scott Williams.
FARMINGTON – The Farmington Post Office will hold its annual food drive on Saturday, May 13. Residents are asked to leave nonperishable food items on or near the mailbox for the carrier to pick up. There will also be a food drop in the lobby of the post office from Wednesday to Saturday, May 10 to 13.
FARMINGTON – Ron Pratt will speak about the Red Schoolhouse project at the meeting of the Franklin County Unit of Retired Teachers at 11 a.m. Monday, May 15, at the Rainbow Cafe, Mt. Blue High School. For lunch reservations, call Carolyn Parr at 778-4282.
FARMINGTON – Richard Batt, president of Franklin Memorial Hospital, will be the speaker at the Wilton Community Breakfast Forum to be held from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 10, at the First Congregational Church, Main Street. Batt’s topic will be the “Future of Health Care in Franklin County.”
The forum is free and open to the public. Doors open at 6:30. A hot breakfast buffet is provided at 6:45 and the speaker begins at 7 a.m.
READFIELD – The Maranacook High School senior class will hold a lasagna dinner and auction on Saturday, May 13, to benefit Project Graduation. The dinner will start at 5 p.m. and the live auction will begin at 6:30. There will also be a silent auction throughout the evening.
The dinner will include salad, garlic bread, beverage and dessert. The cost is $5 for adults and $3 for children and Maranacook students. Cost for a family will be no more than $15. Project Graduation, a chem-free celebration, will include a mystery dinner theater at Camp Sebago, a harbor cruise in Casco Bay with a DJ and munchies and concludes with breakfast on the beach.
