FARMINGTON – The Farmington Historical Society will meet Monday, May 8, at the Henderson Memorial Baptist Church, Academy Street. A 6 p.m. potluck supper will be followed by a meeting and program at 7.
A slide-show program of early 1900 Farmington will be presented by Taffy Davis. Guests and new members are welcome.
TURNER – SAD 52 Adult and Community Education will present a reptiles and amphibians workshop from 9 a.m. to noon, Saturday, June 3, for kindergarten through grade four at the Adult Learning Center in Turner Center.
Participants will learn the different kinds of reptiles and amphibians through slide shows, videos and hands-on experience. They will meet Cal, the California King snake, plus have a chance to hold frogs and lizards.
Parents are welcome. Instructor will be Rema Lee Weston. Registration deadline is Friday, May 26. For more information, call 225-3478.
TURNER – A benefit evening is being planned for the Craig Moon family of Turner. A spaghetti supper will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Saturday, May 13, at Leavitt Area High School cafeteria. Moon was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukemia, a type of cancer normally found in the elderly, in January 2000. He died after a six-year battle, leaving his wife, Debbie, and two children.
