Moms to meet
NORWAY – MotherCare of Maine Gatherings will meet from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. Thursday, May 4, at the Fare Share Commons. MOM’s Gatherings will sponsor a meeting with La Leche League International leader Beth Brown from the Bridgton area. The topic will be “Nutrition and Weaning.” Expectant mothers and mothers are invited to attend. Babies and children also welcome.

SOUTH PARIS – The Extra Mile ATV Club will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, May 4, at the town office. New members are welcome.
HEBRON – A spaghetti supper will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, May 5, at the Hebron Station School. Proceeds will benefit the local Girl Scout Troop 2235 fund their trip to New York. Cost for adults is $5; children ages 3 to 12, $2.50; under 3, free.
SOUTH BRIDGTON – Church Women United will sponsor May Friendship Day at 9:30 a.m. Friday, May 5, at the South Bridgton Congregational Church. The penny collection will be accepted. Refreshments will be served, and the public is welcome.
OXFORD – His Place Teen Center, a nonprofit youth outreach, along with the Resistance Ministries, will have a Chinese auction fundraiser to benefit the teen center on Saturday, May 6, featuring hundreds of new items, at the Hosanna Church Building, 109 School House Road.
The doors will open for ticket sales at 11 a.m., and the tickets will start to be drawn at 1 p.m. All ticket buyers for the auction are guaranteed to win something. There will be a dollar table, grab bags and a 50/50 raffle. Food will be available for purchase. For more information, contact Bert at 743-9503.
Car wash set
PARIS – A car wash will be held from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 6, the Oxford Hills Comprehensive High School in South Paris. Sponsored by the Oxford Hills Music, Art and Drama Boosters, the fundraiser will benefit the OHMAD scholarship fund that supports grades kindergarten through 12 visual and performing arts students who wish to attend summer music or art programs.
Funds will be raised via pledges per car washed by the entire group. Pledges can be for 1 cent a car, 2 cents a car; the more cars the group washes that day, the more money raised.

NORWAY – The 11 a.m. Sunday service at the First Universalist Church of Norway, 479 Main St., will be led by Sally Breen, Northeast District administrator, on Sunday, May 7. The topic will be developing and maintaining a “Green Church.”
A coffee hour will take place in the downstairs concert hall following the service. The choir, led by Heather Pierson, will practice at 9:30 a.m. Sunday and welcomes anyone who wants to sing to join them at practice.
PARIS – The Oxford Hills Chapter, AARP, will hold its annual meeting, awards banquet and installation of officers on Monday, May 8, at the First Congregational Church, East Main Street, South Paris. Lunch will be served at noon, and reservations are required by calling Henrietta at 743-6722 by noon Friday, May 5.
Menu is potato salad and ham. Cost is $6.50. The meeting and installation of officers will begin at 1 p.m. Guest speaker will be Dr. Harper, who will discuss his arrival in Norway and Stephens Memorial Hospital as it celebrates its 50 years of service. National Service Day is May 11 and it is a day to volunteer in a community service of a person’s choice.
