Woods workshop

BETHEL – A workshop will be held from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, May 6, at Telstar Regional High School to learn about the possible non-timber products available from a woodlot and how to market them.

The workshop will include two concurrent sessions with four speakers and local tours that will help introduce alternative products from a woodlot and marketing strategies.

The registration fee of $10 is due by Friday, April 21; seating is limited, and reservations will be taken on a first-come, first-serve basis. Benefit concert

NORWAY – A benefit concert for World Vision and Water for People AFRICA will be held at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 22, at the First Universalist Church, 479 Main St. Cost is $5 at the door. Featured bands will be the Dying Animals, Psychedelic Garage Folk, River Fish Abduction, Avante Garde Punk Folk, Sometimes It Burns and Art Core’s Finest

Bridge results

NORWAY – The Oxford Hills Bridge Club met April 7 at the Fare Share Commons, Main Street, when the annual charity game was played.

Finishing first in Flight A were Dick Allen and Pete Cummings with a 71 percent game; second, Pat and Mike Quinn with Nancy Farmer and Marta Clements.

Finishing first in Flight B were Barbara and Paul Beegel with Carol Curran and Bill Bowman second.
