Potluck supper

Cinderella Project

PARIS – Beth’s Bargain Boutique has announced its first Cinderella Project. The boutique is looking for used prom dresses to donate for high school students in need. People may drop donations off at the boutique in the Cornwall Shopping Center, Route 26. For more information, call 739-2879.

Advocate visit

SOUTH PARIS – The Veterans’ Advocate’s next visit will be from 9 a.m. to noon Wednesday, April 19, at the Maine Veterans’ Home.

Grange meeting

WATERFORD – Waterford Grange 479 will meet at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 10, at the Grange Hall. Refreshments will be served.

Easter events

NORTH WATERFORD – The Rev. George Frobig has invited all members and friends of the Oxford County United Parish churches in North Waterford and Stoneham to join in services for Holy Week and Easter, beginning with a Palm Sunday worship service at 10 a.m. Sunday, April 9, at the North Waterford Congregational Church, located off Routes 35 and 37.

A Maundy Thursday supper will be held at 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at the North Waterford Church vestry, followed by a Tenebre service and Holy Communion.

On Easter Sunday a sunrise service will be conducted jointly with Waterford Congregational Church at 5:50 a.m. at Keoka Lake town beach, followed by breakfast at the North Waterford Congregational Church vestry. Easter Sunday worship will be held at 10 a.m.

Rummage sale

BOLSTERS MILLS – The Bolsters Mills Ladies Guild will hold a rummage sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 8, at the Bolsters Mills United Methodist Church.

There will be new and “like new” clothing for infants, children and adults, games, puzzles and toys, housewares, computer components, sports equipment, Christmas ornaments and small furnishings. Proceeds will benefit the scholarship fund.


BUCKFIELD – Registration and screening for the 2006 kindergarten class in the towns of Hartford, Sumner and Buckfield will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 2 p.m. Thursday and Friday, April 13 and 14.

All children who register must be age 5 on or before Oct. 15. All children who will start kindergarten next fall, including children enrolled in the pre-kindergarten program, will need to be scheduled for a screening.

To register, contact the Hartford-Sumner Elementary School’s office at 388-2681 and be prepared to provide the child’s name, address, telephone number and date of birth.

Parents must bring an official copy of the child’s birth certificate. Students must be registered and screened prior to enrollment.
